Marjo Kolehmainen will attend the conference Qualitative Research in Mental Health 2025 and give two oral presentations at the conference. The first presentation is entitled “Haunting data: Mental health, data hacking and digital temporalities” and it draws upon an ongoing research on the psychotherapy centre Vastaamo’s data breach victims’ experiences.
The second paper “Vibrant Screens: Remote therapy and counseling through the lens of digital material” is based on an article recently published in the Health journal. In particular, the study in question asks how screens as a part of therapy settings or counselling practices materialise – or fail to materialise – care. The empirical data comprise interviews with Finnish therapy and counselling professionals, whose experiences with technology during the COVID-19 pandemic were of original interest.
